Helping The Japanese

Andrew Jackson May was a Democratic Congressman and in 1943 told reporters at a press conference, that American submarines could dive much deeper than the Japanese had realized.and that the Japanese had been setting their depth charges at far too shallow a depth.

It is said the Navy estimated that they lost ten submarines and 800 crewmen because of this. This act of stupidity by Congressman May caused 1 in 5 of all US submarine casualties for the whole of World War Two. (Source)

Even Though Though The Republican Party Was FOUNDED to abolish slavery, today's Democrats are looked at as the leader in the fight against racism and fairness.

However, the Democrats have a long history of doing deliberate AND stupid actions that harm Americans AND America.

These are some Democrat People and Organizations from the past who actively fought against allowing Black American getting their basic rights as Americans.

President Jefferson Davis - Leader of the Confederate States Of American was a member of the Democratic Party and represented Mississippi in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives before the American Civil War. (Source)

The Klu Klux Klan - The Activist arm of the Democratic Party after the Civil War.

The Ku Klux Klan dedicated itself to an underground campaign of violence against Republican leaders and voters (both black and white) in an effort to reverse the policies of Radical Reconstruction and restore white supremacy in the South.

The KKK engaged in terrorist raids against African Americans and white Republicans at night, employing intimidation, destruction of property, assault, and murder to achieve its aims and influence upcoming elections.

Then there was a second generation of the Klan that not only was anti-black, but also took a stand against Roman Catholics, Jews, foreigners and organized labor.

While the KKK influence was slowly diminishing, even as late as 1964, its racist influences still influenced the Democratic Party. For instance, only 60% of Democrats in the Senate and the House voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act, as compared to 80% of Republicans.

And just how effective was the War on Poverty?

Theis is what GovernentSlaves.news has to say about that:

The murder rate among blacks in 1960 was one-half of what it became 20 years later, after a legacy of liberals’ law-enforcement policies.

But historian, sociologist, and economist Thomas Sowell (who is black by the way) has a different perspective (emphasis my own):
Despite the grand myth that black economic progress began or accelerated with the passage of the Civil Rights laws and “War on Poverty” programs of the 1960s, the cold fact is that the poverty rate among blacks fell from 87 percent in 1940 to 47 percent by 1960. This was before any of those programs began.

Over the next 20 years, the poverty rate among blacks fell another 18 percentage points, compared to the 40-point drop in the previous 20 years.
This was the continuation of a previous economic trend, at a slower rate of progress
Nearly a hundred years of the supposed “legacy of slavery” found most black children being raised in two-parent families in 1960. But thirty years after the liberal welfare state found the great majority of black children being raised by a single parent.
